So, starting today, I'm going to try to play catch up and get through this backlog of posts, starting with this one.
Now, I don't know why, but I have an inordinate number of blue nail polishes in my collection. I just find myself magnetically drawn to blue nail polish. When I found today's polish as part of a Butter London 50% off sale almost 6 months ago, it was almost a given that it would wind up in my cart. This beautiful cobalt blue is Blagger from Butter London, and oh how I love it!

Blagger from Butter London is one of my absolute favorite nail polishes. From the shade of blue, to the formula, the application and beautiful shine, this polish has earned it's spot in my frequently-worn-polish rotation.
Blagger is perhaps the perfect blue - a gorgeous bright cobalt with just a dusky hint to it that keeps it out of the royal blue family. The blue is bright, but not TOO bright. It's dark, but not TOO dark.
The formula for most of Butter London's polishes - particularly their cremes - is pretty good. Blagger is no exception. I found that it has a pretty much flawless formula. The polish is easy to apply and goes on smooth, self leveling really well.
The polish is opaque in two coats, though it's dark enough that I guess you could make it so with one thicker coat. This is a very high gloss creme polish. I can't be 100% sure since it's been so long since I took these photos, but I think all of them were taken with no top coat on. That shine is from the polish itself.
I think that the best part of this polish is that it DOES NOT STAIN. Seriously, how rare is it that you can find a darker blue polish that doesn't give you Smurf fingers? I've noticed pretty much no staining to my nail itself when using this polish. This is no guarantee that it absolutely WON'T stain, but I have yet to experience it.
Nail Art / Manicures that use this polish:
Yes, I know I have a whole bunch of Butter London polishes in my collection. A bunch I haven't even had the chance to try yet! But I adore them so much - the colors, the formulas and the amusing names. And for as many as I have, I haven't paid more than $7.50 for a single one of them.
I suggest keeping an eye on butter London's website and social media accounts. When they are clearing out polishes to get rid of overstock or make room for new items, they often have 50% off sales on their website. The next time I see them having a sale, I'll be sure to post it here!

Nice blue!
ReplyDeleteI love this cobalt shade :)
ReplyDeleteThis polish is so beautiful. I hunted and hunted for it, not wanting to pay full price. Finally found a bottle on a blog sale. And then, Ulta had their 1/2 price sale! Oh well, I have it now and it is Mine! lol
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, it really is quite lush, isn't it? Great find on the bargain, and even better to find a deep blue without the smurfy fingers!
