My name is Amanda - though most people just drop the first "A" - and I'm the face behind Fledgling Nails. I'm a Web/UX designer/front-end developer by day, blogger by night-or-whenever-I-can-fit-in-the-time.
What?
Fledgling Nails is a blog dedicated to my journey as I explore the world of nail polish and nail art. While I've always liked painting my nails, I'm honestly new to nail art and am just learning as I go.
Where?
I'm an American blogger, nail polish and nail art enthusiast based out of the Philadelphia area. (I'm stuck outside the city, but hope to move back as soon as I can). For the past five years, though, I lived and worked in Japan...and miss the country so much.
The first post to this blog was made on December 27, 2013 - so yes, my blog is relatively young, but growing quickly. I try to update as often as possible, which usually translates to 5-6 times a week. My tentative schedule includes swatch and review posts on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and nail art posts on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. I'm not always able to keep to this schedule, but I try my best.
Why?
Why a nail blog?
Why not? After spending five years living in Japan and working in public schools where I couldn't keep my nails painted, I returned home to the US and found myself unemployed. What better way was there to fill the time between job applications than by painting my nails and creating a little art to make myself happy (and distract myself from the fact that my job hunting was getting nowhere)?
