Reviews and Swatches: Sinful Colors - Cinderella

This week was crazy and I've been behind the entire week. Between job interviews and applications and a migraine that last two days, I barely got anything done. I really need to write up some posts that I can throw on the blog when I have these kinds of weeks instead of leaving you with radio silence.

Anyways! Here is your Budget Friendly Friday polish... once again on a Saturday. This time, I'm bringing you a sweet, delicate, spring-ey pale blue shimmer called Cinderella

Product Description:

Limited Edition: no

It doesn't take a genius to tell EXACTLY where the inspiration for this color came from. Hmmm.... a light blue, sparkly polish named Cinderella? Anyone who grew up watching Disney movies would recognize it in a heartbeat. I do have to say, the polish DOES give off the perfect "blue taffeta gown" vibe.

I actually had planned on trying out a non-Sinful polish for this week's Budget Friendly Polish post, but I had just purchased this polish and wanted to try it out. When I was wandering the aisle of my local Walmart, this color stood out to me. "Oooooo, a pretty pale blue. I like that one!" I thought it was a creme polish, until I picked up the bottle and saw the beautiful red shimmer shining in  it and fell in love.

Cinderella is actually more of a crellie than a creme, which explains how the shimmer can shine through so well. The formula is smooth and the polish is actually pretty sheer. I'm usually not big on sheers or visible nail lines, but I really like the soft effect one or two coats of this polish has.

In all honesty, I want to say that Cinderella is actually prettier when it's NOT brought up to full opacity. It takes 3-4 coats to be opaque, but it looses a lot of the depth by that point. I actually think it looked best at 2 coats. Maybe it's because the light is still able to shine through the blue and catch the red shimmer? I'll have to take photos another time to show a comparison

Manicures/nail art that use this nail polish:
I'm really glad that I spotted this polish. It's definitely worth the $1.98 I paid for it. You can find this polish and other Sinful Colors polishes at your local Walgreens or Walmart stores.

I've already used this as a  base color for a nail art manicure, so keep an eye on the blog. I may do a double post and put it up sometime today!
