Reviews and Swatches: Sinful Colors - Ocean Side

The week is over and you've slaved away at school or work or home all week long. Time to sit down, relax and paint your nails! Yep, It's Friday, and time for another Budget-Friendly Friday review!

This week, I'm taking a look at another Sinful Colors polish, this time a beautiful nearly-teal blue by the name of Ocean Side

I love good creme polishes. For some reason when I'm in stores, the shiny, glittery, duochrome and foil polishes are the ones that grab my attention, but when I'm at home, I always find myself reaching for my creme polishes. Rich and versatile, they're far and above my favorite kinds of polish for doing nail art.

Enter Sinful Colors Ocean Side. This nail polish is a beautifully rich creme polish with a GREAT formula. It applied easily with no streaking or dragging whatsoever. Not too thin, not too thick ... it applied smoothly with a beautiful shine. All of the photos here show no top coat (since I intend to turn this into some sort of nail art once I'm done with this review).

Even though the formula was perfect, I DO have to admit that dry time is a bit on the longer side, unfortunately. At 5 minutes, my first coat was NEARLY dry, but still a bit sticky to the touch.

The color is a not-quite-teal blue that leans more towards the smokey side. It's definitely a hard shade of blue to put a name on. If it were a bit more green, it could be teal. Perhaps you could call it a dark cerulean?

I DO suggest applying a good base coat when using this nail polish. When I answered my phone while painting, my pinky nail got a bit smudged. After removing the smudged polish in order to repaint, my skin wound up a bit blue. This is typical of deep blue polishes in ANY price range as they're all usually  highly pigmented to achieve the appropriate color.

For $1.99, Ocean Side is a wonderful polish for the money. My bottle was picked up at my local Walmart, but keep an eye out for $.99 sales at pharmacies like Walgreens.

    1. It was a really beautiful and rich color. I love Sinful Colors polishes and think they have really good formulas and color payoff for the price. The only problem I found is that this polish stains like crazy! I just took it off this morning and now my cuticles are blue -_- Thank god I use base coat
