NOTD: Cheery Cherry Nail Art

The weather has been miserable and I was working on swatching Butter London's Cream Tea (whose review should be coming tomorrow!  review here). I decided I wanted to do some sort of nail art with the lovely off-white color, but couldn't decide on a subject.

The cherry earrings I had sitting on my dresser caught my eye and I thought, "What the heck? Why NOT do a summery cherry pattern in the middle of the winter?" So I bring you my nails of the day featuring cheery cherries.

I love red. I love cherries. I love polkadots. I love retro, rockabilly, fifties style looks and fashion. Why not turn my love of these things into a manicure?

While it didn't quite turn out as good as I hoped, I believe that I AM improving. I REALLY need to get some nail art brushes and a striper, though. The dotting tools I got recently were really helpful, and I did the stems and leaves with a combination of dotting tools / toothpick/ lace crochet needle (it sounds odd, but it worked really well!).

Cream Tea has a slightly "vintage"-ey feel to it, which led me to trying a matte top coat to give it an antiqued porcelain feel. The funny thing is that these came out looking a bit like cherry fimo clay canes.

Here are the polishes I used in this manicure:

What do you think? Let me know! And if you have any suggestions for what I should do next, leave a comment. And keep an eye out for Cream Tea's swatches and reviews, coming tomorrow!
