The first thought that came to mind was squares <3 While I would have loved to put together something like this masterpiece by Alison on Aliquid or this beauty on UK Nail Runner, I know that I'm not quite at that level yet. Give me a little time and practice and I can get there!
So! the first thing that came to mind upon thinking of geometric shapes was squares! I poured through my (so-far limited) stamping plate supply, and I DO have a pattern of falling/fading squares!
To do this manicure, I used three of my brand new colors (courtesy of Butter London's 50% off Last Orders sale about two weeks ago). My thumb and ring finger are painted with two coats of Scallywag and two coats of top coat. My pointer and pinky fingers are done with two coats of Squatter and my middle is done in a gradient using Squatter and Bluecoat. I don't think it turned out that bad, considering it was my first time trying to do a gradient!
My pointer and pinky were then stamped with Bluecoat and my middle with Konad special white polish using Pueen plate 48 from the Love Elements set. The stamping didn't quite turn out perfect, but I'm happy enough with it. I figure that I can only get better as I get more practice.
Have any of you out there ever done any themes or challenges? Are there any good ones out there that I should know about?

These look fab! I love those colours together, especially in the gradient! Awesome =)
ReplyDeleteThanks! When I saw the three bottles of polish next to each other when they came in the mail, I knew I had to try and do something with them! It's a nice way to brighten up life in the middle of a miserable winter

ReplyDeleteThank you <3 (And that green is a surprisingly hard color to photograph . Not quite neon, but still bright)
